What is Project Capetown I hear you ask?
It’s an initiative run by a couple of friends of mine who are heading out to South Africa for 2 years to work with a sports and prison ministry in Cape Town. They approached me about setting up a website for them in order to raise funds, to create awareness and to help them to communicate with friends and family back in the UK.
Please have a look and consider donating to these guys. They are going to be doing incredible work in dangerous circumstances giving hope to those who need it.
Scottish and Newcastle were a FTSE 100 company before a takeover by a consortium comprised of Heineken and Carlsberg. Heineken took ownership of S&N UK along with major S&N brands such as Fosters, Strongbow, John Smiths and Kronenbourg.
As a side project during an internship with S&N UK in Edinburgh I redesigned and implemented the intranet for one of the departments. The existing implementation wasn’t widely used and its potential wasn’t being exploited. After consultation with senior management I produced a solution which provided more features, ensured appropriate visability of documentation and a vastly improved rate of use within the department.
Northern Plant and Haulage Ltd. is a plant hire and haulage firm (could you have guessed from the name?) which is based in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Northern Plant lacked an online presence and approached me to design a website for them.
